3D Chess

Development of this 3D chess app is on hold at the moment, but we would love to see it become a reality eventually. In this version of 3D chess each piece has its standard moves along with new rules for moving up and down. For example, the rook can move straight up (or down) one level or two levels. The rook may also move in a ramp-like pattern. It may move one space forward-and-up or two spaces forward-and-up. The same ramp-like movement also applies when moving sideways or backward. The piece movements are difficult to explain in words, but fun and easy to understand in an app.

The images below show the pieces in their starting positions and then the pieces after several moves.
